Due to the current risk of COVID-19, we are temporarily offering online grocery orders from The Island Jar for pick-up at the store or delivery to certain communities (free within Little Current), to limit interaction and the potential spread of germs. We're doing what we can to protect our customers, our community, and our staff (so we can stay open and continue to help keep you healthy!).
Please place your order and choose pick up in-store or delivery to your community as the shipping option when you check out.
For in-store pick up:
Orders should be ready for pick up next operating day (pick-up windows will be between 12-12:30 and 4:30-5 pm each day) at The Island Jar.
IF YOU ARE FEELING UNWELL, are under self-isolation, or would prefer to use our delivery option, please leave a note when you place the order with your home address and phone number, and we will drop the order off on your doorstep at no charge (within Little Current only). We will also be offering delivery to other communities on the island for a small fee. We will text or call when the order is dropped off.
To receive loyalty points for your order, please include the phone number associated to your points accounts in the order notes when you check out.
Orders should be ready for pick up/delivery next operating day. Please note we are closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, so any orders placed on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday will be ready for pick up/delivery on Tuesday.
Bulk Herbs & Spices:
If you would like to order any bulk herbs & spices, or any other products not listed here, please call the store at 705-368-1881 or email email@example.com and we will process your order.
These are the delivery costs - depending on the demand, we may adjust delivery costs accordingly and will keep them as low as possible to help out our customers and community during these unpredictable and difficult times!

If items are not available after order submission, refunds for the unavailable items will be provided back using the method of payment on the order; however we are doing our best to keep inventory numbers up to date and accurate!
To prevent the spread of germs, we will not be accepting returns for items/order that have already been picked up or delivered. Therefore, all items that are picked up or delivered are final sale at this time. Thank you for your understanding!
All orders require 1-3 business days of processing time to be picked, packed and prepared for shipping/pick-up, unless otherwise noted on the product page of the item(s) you've ordered.
Manitoulin Marketplace ships primarily by Canada Post, and their timelines for expedited shipping (Regular Parcel) are that your package will be delivered within 2 business days for local shipments, 5 business days for regional shipments, and 9 business days for national shipments. Please note that your order will be subject to 1-3 business days of processing time in our Shop before it ships, unless otherwise noted on the product page.
Shipping To The U.S.
Shipping to the U.S. is available through Canada Post. Canada Post's timelines for regular shipping are that your package will be delivered within 4 to 6 business days. Please note that your order will be subject to 1-3 business days of processing time in our shop before it ships, unless otherwise noted on the product page.
In-Store Pick Up
In-store pick up is available for anyone local or anyone able to make it into the shop (The Island Jar) in Little Current, on Manitoulin Island:15 Water Street EastLittle Current, OntarioP0P 1K0
You will be notified via email when your order is available for pick up. Orders that have not been picked up within 14 days of the order date will be cancelled and refunded to the original method of payment.
In order to minimize our impact on the environment, we send out all shipments in recycled boxes and use recycled packing supplies, so you may notice some branding on the boxes that's not ours. We pack most boxes with old editions of the Manitoulin Expositor, so you can catch up on the local news too! We encourage you to reuse the boxes if they still have some life left in them (giving a gift, have a cat, or have a kid who's looking for a rocket ship?). If they're no longer usable, please recycle the box and packing supplies. Thanks!
Should you need to cancel an order after it has been placed, we will do our best to accommodate your request. We pack and ship orders as quickly as we can, so please get in touch with us as soon as possible to request an order cancellation. Ways to contact us and hours of availability here.
Please note that once your order has been packed in our shop, we may no longer be able to cancel it.
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. We accept returns of unopened products in original packaging, with the original receipt, up to 30 calendar days from the date of purchase. You will be responsible for the cost of return shipping, and we will refund your payment (to original method of payment) once the returned item(s) is received.
We cannot accept returns from the following types of products:
- Reusable Straws
- Mugs/Water Bottles
- Reusable Menstrual Pads
- Cloth Diapers
- Nursing Pads/Cloths
- Clearance Items
- Items which have been removed from their original packaging or modified in any way
- Any items marked as non-returnable on the product page
